AGATHA CHRISTIE (1890-1976) Author
CRESSWELL PLACE, LONDON SW10
"I've always believed in writing without a collaborator, because where two people are writing the same book, each believes he gets all the worries and only half the royalties."
(Agatha Christie)
In 1926 the creator of Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot became the subject of a mystery herself, disappearing for 11 days then eventually turning up in a small hotel in Harrogate creating front page news across the globe.
Another disappearance concerns the actress Nancy Seabrooke; an understudy in the worlds longest running play, Agatha Christies The Mousetrap. Out of 6240 performances over 15 years, she was unseen in 6168 of them. No-one noticed.
