A. A. MILNE (1882-1956) Author
13 MALLORD STREET, LONDON SW3 Alan Alexander Milne lived here with his wife and son Christopher Robin before they moved to what is now known as Pooh Country in the Ashdowne Forrest, thought to be The Hundred Acre Wood.
How different would the cosy world of The House at Pooh Corner have been had it been set at 13 Mallord Street, just across the road from the anarchist wild man of art Augustus John who lived at number 28.
Without frontiers, the State would wither and society change from a heavy pyramid to a fluid form of amoeba said Augustus, Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again? replied Pooh.
