DESCRIPTION: W G GRACE (1848-1915) Cricketer FAIRMOUNT, MOTTINGHAM LANE, LONDON SE9 “Never read print, it spoils one's eye for the ball.” (William Gilbert Grace) I could write at length about the cricketing prowess of Dr Grace, I could make jokes about silly midwicket, googlies and bowling maidens over, however after discovering the above quote I don’t want to harm any budding cricketers chance of playing for their country by having them read trite words written by someone who finds cricket as interesting as accountancy. I will just say that by a strange quirk of fate, W G Grace’s house is now a retirement home and so is still inhabited by people aiming for 100 not out.
